Winter light messages

Harts first project – Winter lights with the Harmondsworth Scouts!

Local residents, artists, and the scouts have come together to build some artistic glowing signs for the Heathrow villages of Sipson, Harmondsworth and Harlington.

In the depths of winter, in the scout hut, we have cut, painted and glued to spell messages of community arts with fairy lights, that will bring colour in the day and shine out in the night.

The lights are all powered by solar panels and the materials were recycled or environmental, to encourage the transition towards a healthier, happier and more resilient community, for us and future generations.

The project was inspired by the scout cubs thinking collaboratively about what community, arts and the Heathrow villages mean to them.

Tiles were created featuring the scouts cubs messages reading:

‘art is sharing’, ‘art is about helping others’ and ‘art is love’.

‘Oil pollutes the oceans, oil is extremely dangerous’
